MMI Genomics, Inc., a leader in animal DNA analysis and pedigree certification, is proud to announce the release of their Canine Heritage™ Breed Test.  Developed exclusively by MMI Genomics, the Canine Heritage™ product uses state-of-the-art SNP-based DNA technology to genetically identify breed characteristics and certify 38 potential breeds.

MMI Genomics, Inc.’s DNA CheekSwab™ kits are provided for DNA collection and can be returned by regular US mail - no special handling is required.  The swabbing procedure is completely non-invasive.  No blood, hair or tissue need be extracted.  Swabbing is done easily and comfortably by the pet owner, avoiding the trauma and expense of other sampling methods.

The Canine Heritage™ Breed Test is not designed for use as a purebred or paternity verification test and is not an established legal tool. A kennel or breed club certifies a dog’s breed based on pedigree documentation. If necessary, kennel and breed clubs use legally recognized DNA paternity testing to verify relationship. These tests use a different type of DNA analysis than the Canine Heritage™ Breed Test. MMI Genomics, Inc. also offers paternity testing, for more information about this service please click here.

Currently the Canine Heritage™ Breed Test is sold only in the U.S. and Canada. The Canine Heritage™ Breed Test was developed and validated using United States dog breed populations. Breeds outside the United States and Canada may not be represented or identified by the Canine Heritage™ Breed Test
